Undercover Boss, a two-time Emmy award winning TV series from CBS, is about to premiere its fifth season tonight. Undercover Boss features a high-level executive going undercover among the rank-and-file employees, undergoing a "make-under," disguising their hundred dollar haircuts and suits with shabby entry-level uniforms and average-joe hair. The reality TV show series has origins from Undercover Boss UK, in 2009.
A different "boss" is featured every week, and so the first episode of the fifth season of Undercove rBoss will be headlined by Twin Peaks CEO Randy DeWitt.
Twin peaks, a restaurant establishment known for their mountain lodge atmosphere, comfort food, draft beer and trademark Twin Peaks girls, has over 50 restaurants all over the nation, with the first built in Lewisville, Texas. The initial concept had been simple: to create the atmosphere of the perfect man-cave, with cold beer, good food, and a nice view. He says the girls are what lures everybody for the first time, but keep coming back for what the rest of Twin Peaks has to offer.
And whatever had loyal customers coming back has proven effective by far, as they soon started expanding. The growth happened rapidly, over the course of only a decade, which is the reason why DeWitt deemed it the right time to go undercover to see how his original concept for Twin Peaks is being held up by his employees.
DeWitt worked several jobs while undercover in some of his restaurants: he works as a bartender, as a line cook, and alongside some of the attractive Twin Peaks girls.
"This was a fulfilling experience I'll never forget," he said during filming, "I thought I knew exactly what was going on in our restaurants, but being undercover offered more insight that I could have imagined, and made me even prouder of this concept and our team."
Undercover Bosses premieres tonight on CBS, 8pm.
