World Giving Index have analyze if which among the 400 cities in the US rank as the most generous. The said group set a criteria that would identify if which among the cities will qualify and be declare as the most generous one.
World Giving Index would like to find out if whether or not a city has a culture that defines what "volunteerism" by looking the number of residence that may engage in volunteerism. They would also like to find out how large the area is by getting the percentage number, to see if how many people will be able to engage in volunteerism activity.
The second criterion aims to find out if whether or not, the volunteer's commitment is strong enough to continually do their commitments. "We would like to find out the number of hours that one is capable with in doing their volunteerism services", Emilda Fox, member of World Giving Index.
And last on the criteria aims to determine if the residents donate cash for charity works, and how much is the minimum and maximum. They are also looking for the median percentage of the amount donated to fully evaluate.
Based on the result, Provo ranks first as the most generous city. The result states that almost 58% of the population volunteered for charitable works and other social involvement works. Each of them invests 150 hours of their time, volunteering with non-governmental works.
The second city which hailed as the most generous is Ogden, UT. People invest their free time for almost 101.8 hours every year, and almost 52.2 percent involve in volunteerism during the previous years. In addition, some families donated almost 10.4 of their income to charitable works.
And on the forth is Iowa City, IA, which has an almost 49.2% of residents who volunteered in a different non-profitable event.
