Robin Thicke Confesses He “Wanted” A Controversial VMA Performance

Artist Robin Thicke has made a confession. He really wanted to get people talking about his performance with Miley Cyrus at the recently concluded VMAs or Video Music Awards.

The "Blurred Lines" artist caused an uproar when he partnered with Miley Cyrus on the MTV Video Music Awards. Thicke "allowed" the very controversial singer to grind up against him while dressed only in a nude latex bra and panty set. Miley also had other antics during the performance, including provocative licking as well as rubbing herself using an oversized foam finger.

Robin Thicke talked more about his wildly talked about VMA performance in the latest issue of Vanity Fair magazine. He defends Miley, saying he was a hundred percent on board her tactics, and even got an early warning about her performance plans.

He also told Vanity Fair that he has spent his whole career playing it safe, "being a gentleman, never doing anything controversial. I didn't see [the VMA performance] because I was onstage singing my ass off."

Robin Thicke also said that he was told even before the performance that Miley Cyrus had plans to take her clothes off. She may also dance around and even bend over! He said he replied with an "I don't care" and just wanted to entertain people, as well as give them something that they weren't ready for and that would ultimately make them talk.

Thicke also took the opportunity to clarify rumors whether he really did cheat on his wife Paula Patton. There have been stories going around that he was seeing socialite Lana Scolaro. Thicke insisted that he has never cheated on his wife, and mother of his three year old son, Julian. He ended the interview saying that 75% of the songs that he wrote were about his love for her, and how much he needed her.
