Fiona Apple gave a piece of her mind to a heckler during a performance in Portland, Oregon Thursday night, Huffington Post reported Friday.
It was just like any other concert performance for Fiona Apple - who was touring with Blake Mills - until a fan heckled just prior to the show's end. Apple reportedly broke down during her final song.
Stereogum reported that Apple was "chided by the unnamed attendee because of her appearance."
In a report, someone from the first balcony shouted during Apple's song performance with Mills, saying: "Fiona! Get healthy! We want to see you in 10 years!"
But the singer didn't like what she heard as proven by her rather furious look. She then yelled back towards the heckler. "I am healthy! Who the f-ck do you think you are? I want you to get the f-ck out of here. I want the house lights on so I watch you leave!"
While some fans were shocked on this Fiona's response, the lights did come on, and the heckler was seen walking towards the exit, but had managed to give it one last shot: "I saw you 20 years ago and you were beautiful!"
After the exchange, Apple Fiona continued the concert by singing "Waltz (Bette Than Fine)" as though nothing had happened.
However, some witnesses and Apple fans took it to Twitter.
"Just witnessed a #FionaApple meltdown in #Portland. Some #bodypride feminist called her thin and unhealthy and Fiona stopped the show," a Sean H. tweeted.
"Oh man, sad emo end to a glorious show by Fiona Apple. Portland, why couldn't u hold your tongue so the girl could hold it together #sigh," an Alicia J. Rose wrote.
In the past, Apple Fiona also had dealt with several bouts of heckling. During an event in Tokyo just this September, she yelled at the noisy audience that they were "rude" and even told them to "shut the f-ck up!"
Some reports on that fashion event stated that the singer walked off stage in the middle of her performance, but Fiona denied the claims later on.
Apple and Mills are to play in L.A.'s Disney Hall on Monday.
