The news that said that Miley Cyrus was going to be appearing on Saturday Night Live excited a lot of people, especially since majority thought that they would some at least some twerking on the show. The short version of the truth is that no twerking occurred in last weekend's episode, much to the disappointment of many fans.
Miley even talked about twerking in her opening monologue. She had this to say about twerking- "Now that white people are doing it, it seems kind of lame,". In the same monologue, the controversial artist also talked about her performance in MTV's video music awards, and addressed what happened to Hannah Montana (she was murdered, apparently).
The opening monologue was just about as controversial as Cyrus' Saturday Night Stint went. Once she mentioned that her VMA performance may have been responsible for the end of America, she played it clean, and didn't even mention Sinead O' Connor, the musical artist with whom Cyrus has been exchanging heated tweets and open letters with in the last week.
Cyrus did however portray a slutty Michelle Bachman is a "We can't stop" parody that also portrayed the current US government shutdown. Cyrus also played Hillary Clinton, who supposedly starred in an MTV mini-series, a high school student with an unhealthy obsession with hip hop, Scarlett Johansson supposedly auditioning for "50 Shades of Gray" and a grump morning show host.
Cyrus also gave two different musical performances during the show. Audiences noticed that compared to her other more recent appearances, Cyrus dressed so much more conservatively during her SNL stint. While her outfit choices still contained some sheer elements, nothing was overly revealing, and the singer was very covered up with a black two piece number underneath.
