Fifty Shades Of Grey: Charlie Hunnam Withdraws From Film; Did He Get Cold Feet? Was He Too Good For The Role?

Did Charlie Hunnam get cold feet?

Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy, Pacific Rim), quit "Fifty Shades of Grey" because of an "immersive TV schdedule," but fans aren't buying the reason for his untimely exit.

"The filmmakers of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam's immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey," declared Universal Pictures on October 12. It is unknown who the actor to replace him is, as of yet.

Charlie Hunnam, 33, is said to be too busy shooting the season 6 finale of "Sons of Anarchy," ans fans of the FX show are quickly jumping to his defense on twitter, saying that he is 'too good' for the role of sadistic Christian Grey anyway, while fans of the racy book react violently, saying Hunnam was never meant for the role anyway. They go on calling out Ian Somerhalder, or the most popular choice from the beginning, Matt Bomer, for the role.

Sources close to Hunnam have said of his decision:  "overwhelmed with the attention he received from being cast in the movie and got cold feet about carrying such a high-profile project."

However, Charlie Hunnam explains his decisions himself: "There are so many fans of that book and I know that on the surface, I'm probably not what everybody imagined," he admits. "Because reading is so personal and people bring a character to life in their imagination, they feel ownership over that character. That's daunting if I allowed myself to think about it too much. I'm taking it very seriously and intend to explore the nature of who this character is, what motivates him - and also dress up nice and look good in those suits."

After Charlie Hunnam had been cast in the "Fifty Shades Of Grey" movie adaptation, thousands of enraged fans put up a petition for him to leave and are now congratulating themselves for possibly influencing his decision.
