Anthony Hopkins Sends the Cast of Breaking Bad Gushing Fan Mail

High-caliber actor and Hollywood veteran, Anthony Hopkins, has joined the bandwagon of fans going crazy over AMC's show, Breaking Bad, as he sends a fan letter to the show's lead, Bryan Cranston.

The recently-concluded AMC hit series, Breaking Bad, has gotten Sir Anthony Hopkins into a whirlwind of fascination and fandom. The actor, who famously portrayed Hollywood's most-feared cannibal, Hannibal Lecter, has penned an overly-excited fan mail to Bryan Cranston, who plays chemistry teacher-turned-meth kingpin, Walter White in the series.

"I have never watched anything like it. Brilliant!" quipped Hopkins at the beginning of his letter, after he confessed that he "binge-watched" all the episodes from season one until season 6 in two weeks' time. Hopkins also stated that he experienced "addictive viewing" while watching the events unfold in the high-wired drama.

Hopkins expressed his gratitude with the kind of cinematic beauty and talent Breaking Bad presents, using superlatives to describe how he felt towards the Vince Gilligan-penned series.

"Your performance as Walter White was the best acting I have seen - ever.. I know there is so much smoke blowing and sickening bullshit in this business, and I've sort of lost belief in anything really." wrote the celebrated Silence of the Lambs actor, saying how the show restored his faith in the business.

Hopkins then continues to rave for the entire production crew of Breaking Bad, even comparing the evolution of the show to an epic Greek Tragedy and a Shakespearian drama. The show won best drama series in this year's primetime Emmy Awards, just days before the series finale was aired in AMC.

"Thank you. That kind of work/artistry is rare, and when, once in a while, it occurs, as in this epic work, it restores confidence." gratefully exclaims Anthony. He then states that Cranston, along with the other cast members, "are the best actors" he has ever seen-an astounding compliment coming from the likes of Hopkins.

The letter was posted by one of the cast members, Steven Michael Quezada, in his Facebook page, and was sent to Bryan Cranston through UTA, the agency which represents both Hopkins and Cranston.

With the kind of work that Anthony Hopkins is known for, it is no surprise that the cast and crew of Breaking Bad are overwhelmed with how Hopkins was compelled to take the time to write the fan mail. Hopkin's publicist has confirmed the authenticity of the letter, stating that the actor did really write the letter of appreciation to the show.
