Most of job seekers feel more confident in finding a job within the next 10-12 months, reported Monster.com in its mid-year Workforce Talent Survey.
According to the report, 53% of the respondents said that they could secure a new job within the next 10 to 12 months, while only 15% pointed out that they are not confident at all.
"Improving from 47% reported six months ago, 34% of job seekers said they were not finding jobs for which they were qualified," the report added. "Up from 38%, 43% of job seekers believe there are more job openings now than one year ago."
Further, the report indicates that half (49%) of job seekers are struggling to find a job that matches salary, location and other benefits they want, up from 56%.
"Nowadays, fewer job seekers (67%) feel that is more challenging to find a job than six months ago (77%)," the report said. "Nearly three quarters (72%) of respondents would be willing to relocate for the right position."
According to Jeffrey Quinn, Vice President of Monster's Global Insights, this trend in optimism among job seekers may be indicative of an improving economy consistent with an unemployment decrease steadily in June, July and August reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Despite the optimistic results, most of respondents (77%) think the market is saturated with qualified people in their specialty, up from the 73% reported previously.
