Rumors are buzzing that Twilight star, Robert Pattinson, is in the billing to replace Charlie Hunnam in the high profile movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.
The E.L. James erotica novel trilogy, which is based on the famous movie franchise, Twilight, has been causing quite the excitement among its fans especially now that the book has been green-lit to for a Hollywood adaptation. 'Sons of Anarchy' star, Charlie Hunnam, was initially selected to play Christian Grey, a handsome, billionaire BDSM-addict bachelor. Just a week ago, Hunam dropped out of the billing and cited a busy schedule as his reason for pulling out.
Another reason that might have pushed Hunnam away from the role is his aversion to be stereotyped. Pattinson suffered this kind of typecasting when the British actor jumped into the Twilight franchise. Hunnam starred in Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim not long ago, and it's safe to say that the actor is gunning for more blockbuster-worthy kind of roles.
However, fans of the book are riddled with too much excitement as news are suggesting that Pattinson might nab the role after all, especially that Christian Grey was loosely based on his character, Edward Cullen, in the Twilight movie series.
Hollywood Life has strongly stated that Pattinson should be the one casted for the role as no one would play it better than the actor, and fans seem to agree after their shared disappointment when the unlikely Hunnam was casted.
Model Dakota Johnson is set to play Anastasia Steele, the female lead in Christian Grey's erotic world. Johnson was selected by the producers with her and Hunnam's chemistry in mind.
Other actors being considered for the role seem equally fit to play the sexy billionaire according to the author's words. Ian Somerhalder of the' Vampire Diaries' is a strong contender, as well as Matt Bomer of the show, 'White Collar.' Underwear model, Jamie Dorman, is also becoming to be a probable pick. The deadline for the final casting has been set on August 2014, and there's more room for anticipation on who will officially land this coveted role.
