Apple is not yet done with its product release wave. Just a few months after releasing two new iPhones - iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C - launching new MacBooks and unveiling two new iPads that are to hit the market this November, the company is now gearing for another iPhone release - the iPhone 6 - summer next year, which may come as shock for fans, who want to make the most out of their iPhone 5S and or iPhone 5C experience. But the question here is not whether the newer iPhone will be better than its 2013 predecessors. The question here is whether or not Apple has got something new to offer such as the delightful transformation of its iPad in the iPad Air.
And yes, Apple has got some great news for all of us. Many would even call it "BIG" news, given the fact that the rumored iPhone 6, which was already in the works early this year, is to come with a much bigger screen. And several techie sites have already placed their bets that it's going to be either at 4.8 inches or a giant 5-incher. And much like its monster phone competitors such as the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, and Sony Xperia z, the iPhone 6 will be sporting a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution display.
Although Apple has never come out of its 4-inch display zone yet, the popular smartphone brand's move to upping the screen size is not shocking and makes a lot of sense, now that the market is on its way to welcoming more and more of its bigger smartphone entries - the phablets with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on the lead.
"Some customers value large screen size, others value other factors such as resolution, color quality, white balance, brightness, reflectivity, screen longevity, power consumption, portability, compatibility with apps and many things," Tim Cook recently said. "Our competitors had made some significant trade-offs in many of these areas in order to ship a larger display. We would not ship a larger display iPhone while these trade-offs exist."
As of late, here are the rumored specs and features for the iPhone 6. First, the newest iPhone is to sport the iOS 7 out of the box. Of course, this is not at all surprising since redesigning a whole new OS for the iPhone 6 would not make sense, given the time it took for Apple to complete its iOS 7. Second, the iPhone 6 might come with gaze detection technology, which basically detects whether the user is looking at the screen of the device. This is pretty much similar to Samsung's Smart Stay technology. Third, Apple is said to be working on a 13-megapixel shooter for its giant iPhone, with more advanced features to flaunt due its alleged lens upgrades. Finally, the iPhone 6 will keep the Touch ID fingerprint scanner found in the iPhone 5S at hand with possible updates on other uses for the feature aside from unlocking and making purchases.
The release date for the iPhone 6 might be earlier than expected. After the record-breaking release of the iPhone 5S this September, Apple is rumored to be aiming for a summer release to make way for the launching of the 6th generation iPad and third generation iPad Mini as well as a veritable feast of possible MacBook alternatives.
