TV's favorite posse is about to hit the big screen as the movie adaptation of the HBO series, Entourage, is on the works.
According to reports, four out of the five deals of the lead actors in Entourage have been signed, pushing for the movie deal to be in fruition. Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and Kevin Connolly have all signed and agreed to their deals to play in the said movie, much to the anticipation of fans of the series.
"It's a go. Love you all," wrote Doug Ellin, creator of Entourage, in his Twitter account on Monday.
Initially, the movie adaptation of the series has been halted due to disagreements between the producers and one of the lead actors, Jeremy Piven, who plays Chase's agent, Ari Gold. Producers of the show, Steven Levinson and actor, Mark Wahlberg, told TMZ that the main reason for off handing the plans to turn the series into a movie was "greed," with Piven's deal stating that he will also gain from the movie's backend. Piven signed his deal back in October.
Actor Adrien Grenier expressed his views on his Instagram account, saying that the spirit of the show is not about money for him, but for brotherhood and for the fans.
"It has, & never will be about the money for me. I promise. I will always stand up for the boys (that includes you) & do what I can to make sure they are treated fairly, and not be taken advantage of by anybody. The spirit of Entourage is about sharing the opportunities given to us and I will sign any deal that gives ALL the boys an opportunity to share in the upside of success EQUALLY. I assure you, despite the perception, there is no greed in my heart. Remember, it will all work out in the end. It always does."
Entourage follows the story of Hollywood matinee idol, Vince Chase, played by Adrian Grenier, and his group of friends whose antics endlessly dip into his success. The movie adaptation will start production on January 2014, after Piven finishes his commitment with his PBS series, Mr. Selfridge.
