Veterans Day 2013 Qoutes: Honoring the Brave Men and Women Who Served the Nation in Times of War [+VIDEO]

Veterans Day is a celebratory day made to honor the men and women who have served the country in times of war. The holiday was first referred to as "Armstice Day," which was first celebrated during the first year anniversary of World War I in Nov. 11, 1919.However, it was only in 1938 when the said date officially became a national holiday following the passing of a resolution to observe it in 1926.

Ninety-four years has passed since its first celebration, and the Veterans Day legacy continues. Today, like no different from the previous years of celebrating this holiday, we pay tribute and take time to honor the brave, valiant, and selfless men and women who have served the nation sincerely during the difficult times of war.

Today we celebrate Veterans Day 2013 and it is imperative that we honor the men, women, and everyone who strove hard to maintain our nation's peace, unity, and above all, freedom.

While President Lincoln's words: "To care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow, and his orphan" remain to be the one emblazoned on the front of the Department of Veterans Affairs building, these famous quotations, that time and again have been used during the Veterans Day celebration, never fail to leave a mark in our hearts in honoring those who stood up for our country in times of war.
