Cristiano Ronaldo Scores 3-2 Against Sweden, Puts Portugal In World Cup; Named Best Soccer Player In The World

Cristiano Ronaldo, forward and captain of the Portugese National Team, has earned the status of the best soccer player in the world after securing Portugal a slot in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, scoring 3 dramatic goals against Sweden.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored 3-2 against Sweden in their home turf, pulling team Portugal into the World Cup, silencing his harshest of critics.

His first goal of the night came 50 minutes into the game. Cristiano Ronaldo used his wits to hold back, as Portugal went downfield, permitting him to stealthily steal the ball and slide it past Swedish goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson.

But Sweden bravely stepped up, with global star, striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic drilling home a free kick, giving the home team some hope for victory.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo was quick to dash those hopes, scoring another goal with 13 minutes left into the game, and sealing the game by firing another goal 2 minutes later.

Known for being dramatic, Cristiano Ronaldo is considered only to be at the beginning of his prime at 28 years old, and has his fair share of critics as well as fans, for his irreverent sneer and gruffness; however, it is his technical skill and confidence that keeps him on the top spot.

Portugal is now among 32 of the world's best teams to compete in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and the world is looking forward to the December 6 draw.
