The holiday season is going to be very busy. Aside from the growing smartphone market that is seemingly bloating with supersized flagship devices, the tablet war is also sparking a lot of interest from the general consumer. And in the 10-inch category of tablet devices, the battle is tough between the iPad Air and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014. Two very different devices but both are of the same wavelength when it comes to design, features, and whatnot. So without keeping you all waiting let us get down to business and discuss the four-one-one as well as the striking feats of the newest Apple iPad Air and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014.
Apple iPad Air over Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1 2014
With the introduction of the newest iPad Air it is not at all surprising that everyone just can't seem to get enough of this newest addition to the very successful iPad series. The most obvious thing and perhaps the first thing that one will notice right away upon holding this device is indeed it lives up to its name. That's right! No tablet is lighter than or as light as the iPad Air. And compared to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014, it's like holding Styrofoam over a slab of metal.
Apple's iPad Air will blow your mind away as it is one if not the thinnest tablet in the market right now. Apple even takes pride on the idea that it is as thin as a pencil. Check out Apple's very interesting advertisement for the iPad Air below.
One reason why Apple fans continue to remain loyal to the company is the fact that most if not all of its products are made with aluminium body. The iPad Air is no exception, giving it a much more premium feel than Samsung's polycarbonate material.
Apple is indeed gearing for the much better processors, so it is not surprising that the iPad Air comes with an ARMv8-based 64-bit processor. This powerful processor makes the device running smoother yet faster than any other tablet in the market today.
In terms of battery life, although the two devices sport almost similar Li-Po batteries, we are giving this round to the Apple iPad Air, which has an 8,820mAh battery while the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 is not that really far behind at 8,220mAh.
Finally, although this is may sound unbelievable, the iPad Air comes as a much cheaper price compared to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 - at least for its base price.

Like all other Note instalments, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 also takes pride on its S Pen stylus, which now comes with more integrated functionalities. Meanwhile, the iPad Air does not come with any stylus or pen-like tool for that matter.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has sharper screen display compared to Apple's all-new iPad. Designed at 299ppi, the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 offered a more vibrant and clearer display than Apple's 162 ppi screen.
While Apple's iPad Air is basking under the glory of its powerful processor, the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 is taking the stage when it comes to RAM, having 3GB as opposed to Apple's 1GB.
Then, we also would like to give it to Samsung for incorporating 4 LTE support (150Mbps downlink) to the new 10-incher Note as well as the 8MP main camera with LED flash. On the other hand, the iPad Air only sports a 5MP shooter with no LED.
The microUSB port is also a big plus to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014. Alongside which is the IR blaster, which is useful when it comes to providing the device with remote control functions.
