This week's 'The Biggest Loser' episode shocked many fans when Bob Harper finally revealed that he is apparently gay, a brave gesture he did on national television to help and show support to one of the hit show's contestants, Entertainment Weekly reported Wednesday.
According to the report, Bob Harper has never publicly addressed the issue whether he is gay despite the fact that he already came out to his family at the young age of 17. Today, at 47, Harper finally addressed the sexuality issues he is facing ever since the start of his career on 'The Biggest Loser.'
"I really do believe that this is the right time. I want to show Bobby that he doesn't have to live in shame," Harper said when he talked about his sexuality on 'The Biggest Loser' season 15's all-new episode. His claimed that his decision was triggered when he met one of the contestants, Bobby Salem, who is from a strict Catholic family.
Harper knew that Bobby was struggling from the idea of finally coming out to his parents, one issue the fitness trainer noticed when Salem's parents paid a visit to the ranch.
"Being gay doesn't mean being weak and being gay doesn't mean you're less than anybody else. It's just who you are," Harper was quoted by many outlets while he confessed to Bobby about the predicament he faced 31 years ago.
Entertainment Weekly recognized the fact that many show fans expressed their support to Harper as well as Salem after the big revelation in the show last Tuesday.
