Suge Knight: Former Hip Hop Mogul Halted By Police and Taken In On False Assault Charges [VIDEO & REPORT]

Former hip hop bigwig, Suge Knight, was taken to a police station Friday afternoon after the police caught up with him in LA. Knight was stopped by the L.A.P.D. with their guns drawn after they received a report of an assault earlier with the suspect matching his description.

Suge Knight insisted on his innocence, even accompanying the cops to the police station to prove that he was not the assailant in question. It did not take long for the L.A.P.D. to confirm that Suge Knight was not the suspect in the previously mentioned assault. In fact, reports are now saying that it was all a case of mistaken identity. He was released quickly after police found out that initial report of the crime might have been a hoax.

Knight was not happy about the situation and is considering filing a lawsuit over the whole ordeal. Suge Knight, previous co-founder of Death Row Records, has been in trouble with the law in the past. He was sent to prison in 1997 over a probation violation; sentenced to nine years. In 2001 he was released but quickly found himself back in jail in 2003 for striking a parking attendant, thus violating his parole. In 2008, he was arrested on drug and aggravated assault charges but was cleared of them. He was also implicated in a robbery in 2009. Suge Knight was arrested in 2012 when the authorities found marijuana and warrants for traffic violations in his vehicle. He is currently on unsupervised probation for driving with a suspended license.

While Suge Knight is not a stranger to run-ins with the police, he most recent engagement had the cops in the wrong. Since his days with Death Row Records, Knight has started up his own record label but has not had as much success.
