A 20-year-old college student identified by her family as Bobbi Layne Roberts was killed in a hit & run accident in Clinton Township Friday night, WXYZ TV Detroit reported Sunday.

According to several local reports the college student died due to a fatal hit-&-run crash on northbound Gratiot Avenue, south of Capital Drive. The hit & run accident happened at around 11:25 p.m. Friday night, said authorities.

My Fox Detroit reported that early investigation on the accident revealed that an unknown vehicle which was traveling the northbound lane on Gratiot Avenue struck Roberts while she was allegedly walking her way home. The lane was pretty busy during the said time such that it was only until a passing vehicle decided to stop by after spotting a woman was apparently lying on the ground by which Roberts' body was taken in. Authorities believe that there were no eye witnesses during the hit & run accident in Clinton Township.

Meanwhile, it was Bobbi-s sister, Shauna Roberts, who helped the authorities in identifying her body. In an interview Shauna voiced out her gratitude to the motorist who took the time to stop by her sister's body. "I thank you for stopping... bless you for stopping and taking the time," she said.

On the other hand, the victims' mother, Carolin Roberts is urging the person behind the hit & run incident to come out on account of her youngest daughter's death. "Do the right thing," Carolin urged, adding, "God will get you one way or another somehow."
