A Florida woman had to undergo emergency surgical procedures for the injuries she obtained from a merciless attack of a black bear, ABC News reported Tuesday.
Florida officials are currently in search of a black bear, which perpetrated a bloody attack against a Florida woman Monday evening at around 8:05 p.m., according to multiple sources.
The Longwood, Florida woman was reportedly walking her dogs in a subdivision when the bear attack happened, said Seminole County Fire Rescue Lt Alisa Keyes. The attack took place near the Wekiva River basin, famous for being a bear habitat.
Multiple sources said that it was very fortunate that the Florida woman was able to break free from the bloody attack and was able to run to a nearby residence where an alarmed neighbor called 911 right away for help.
According to Keyes, the still unnamed woman was alert and oriented at the face of the supposed to be fatal attack. However, because of her serious undisclosed injuries, she was transported right away to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The merciless attack is said to be the first ever bear attack on a human in the state despite the very common bear sightings in the area, Keyes said.
