Fast & Furious 7 To Continue: Filmmakers & Crew May Have To Start All Over Again

Producers of the popular film series "Fast & Furious" are scrambling to save what is left of the upcoming addition to the franchise, "Fast & Furious 7," in the confusion left in the wake of Paul Walker's sudden death.

Paul Walker, whose character in the "Fast & Furious" film installment, an ex-cop Brian O'Conner, has been central to the plots of 5 in 6 of the last "Fast & Furious" films, and had been set to return in the upcoming installment "Fast & Furious 7."

Paul Walker, 40, had been on a Thanksgiving break along with the rest of the cast members when he and friend Roger Rodas went for a quick ride in a red 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, when it clipped a light pole and set the car aflame, killing both men instantly.

Universal Studios has reportedly released a statement saying production had been put on hold "for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise."

Paul Walker had been slated to return to Atlanta after Thanksgiving to resume shooting.

Filming for "Fast & Furious 7" had already been behind schedule, and only 50% completed. Paul Walker dead have only left cast and crew in confusion.

Scenes of Walker are being reviewed frame by frame, including the outtakes, to determine which footage could be salvaged for the film. Crew are now looking to CGI to fill in the rest of the gaps that Paul Walker should originally fill.

Meanwhile, scriptwriters are beginning to rewrite the script to accommodate Paul Walker's absence. It is not known yet whether his character will be killed off in "Fast & Furious 7," or will be replaced by another actor.

If all remains unresolved, then the film will be forced to start all over again-but this time without Paul Walker. The production crew will be out of work until decisions are made.
