According to Hollywood Hills, How I Met Your Mother season 9 episode 13 isn't going to air tonight for some very unknown and undisclosed reason. CBS has not even released a statement on why this all-new episode is to air December 16th at 8/7c. Nonetheless, the network assures every die-hard fan of the show that they won't miss the quirky gang this week since they will be airing How I Met Your Mother season 9 episode 1 "The Locket" instead. We're guessing that they are preparing us all for the big switch that is about to happen in the 13th episode this season since it's going to focus more on the mother's exploits rather than the gang's adventure. But anyway, fans who missed the first episode of HIMYM Season 9 will get the chance to watch it tonight. HIMYM executive producer Craig Thomas has long teased fans about the upcoming How I Met Your Mother season 9 episode 13 "Bass Player Wanted" on Twitter. And based on his tweets, it seems that December 16th's show is all about the mother (played by Cristin Milioti). "Folks are asking if The Mother is in the next new #HIMYM. I could say 'No spoilers.' Or I could just say, 'Yes. A LOT,'" one of Thomas' Twitter posts reads. Additionally, Thomas wrote that fans will also enjoy the 200th episode of the comedy series that is due late January since the mother is also going to make an interesting appearance for the said episode. "You're going to be so sick of her by the end [of the series]," he added.
Meanwhile, executive producer Carter Bays also recently dished things that fans should watch out for in HIMYM's 200th episode. "Our 100th episode was very much a celebration of the cast - not that the cast doesn't deserve celebrating even more after 200 episodes - but this is a different kind of story," Bays said. "It's about the tale. It felt like a different kind of 200th episode, but it felt like the right one to do in terms of the greater story of the show."
The official episode synopsis for How I Met Your Mother season 9 episode 13 reads: "The gang encounters a guy at the wedding who intentionally stirs up trouble among them, and Marshall finally arrives at the Farhampton Inn."
