Carrie Underwood is currently fighting for her life says a report that has been making rounds on the internet since this morning. The singer-slash-actress - who has recently made headlines for her portrayal in NBC's 'Sound of Music Live!' - is allegedly in serious condition as of late at the Golden State Regional Hospital. However, it was found out that the 'American Idol' is currently enjoying her vacation time with her family and friends and is nowhere even close to a hospital.
According to the "close-to-being dead" hoax, Carrie Underwood was rushed to the hospital a few minutes after a traffic accident that escalated into a physical altercation. The report even noted that the very physical fight happened in Fullerton California, a suburb 30 minutes south east of Los Angeles.
Additionally, the report has even managed to include specific details on how Carrie Underwood got involved into the traffic incident. Underwood's BMW allegedly struck a pickup truck which was apparently towing landscaping equipment. Three men reportedly exited the truck and went to the singer's car just to punch her and even kick her prior to fleeing the scene.
The report even had a quotation from one of the alleged eyewitnesses. "She didn't have a chance against these men who attacked her before she said a single word to them", the witness said.
At the end of the article, it was even stated that Carrie Underwood is was unresponsive when the police officers arrived but she was lucky enough to still be breathing.
Although the supposed to be "celebrity death hoax" simply turned out to be a violence-related, life-or-death hoax, many believed the article right away since it was very detailed enough to lure people into believing the entire article. Multiple sources even noticed that the hoax got a lot of following right away since it's published on Global Associated News, a decent-looking website.
Nonetheless, a closer look at the site will reveal that it is a site intended only to create and generate fake news."FAKE... THIS STORY IS 100% FAKE! this is an entertainment website, and this is a totally fake article based on zero truth and is a complete work of fiction for entertainment purposes!" a note at the bottom of the Carrie Underwood traffic altercation report reads.
Meanwhile, others who have stumbled upon the said hoax simply shared it on social media right away without even noticing the message at the bottom of the page. Because of this, the news rapidly found its way into almost every social media platforms, and people who have read the post voiced out mix emotions on the report.
"RIP Carrie Underwood... oops I thought it's another death hoax."
"My prayers go to her and her family."
"That's what you get for doing 'Sound of Music Live!'"
"Oh well at least she ain't dead."
Although Global Associated News is home to many of the notorious death hoaxes recently, it is a little bit surprising that the site is not featuring an alleged celebrity death now. As of late, it simply features Carrie Underwood as one of its latest victims. Actors and actresses got killed off in these celebrity death hoaxes include: Eddie Murphy Adam Sandler, Celine Dion, etc.
