NetFlix Acquires Rights for Breaking Bad Spinoff [VIDEO+REPORT]

Video service NetFlix Inc has recently acquired the rights giving them the go signal to create new episodes of the hit series, "Breaking Bad".

The new episodes will be spinoffs of the television show with Bod Odenkirk, the actor who plays Saul Goodman as the star of the show. The series prequel is called "Better Call Saul" the character's famous tagline from the original TV show. Episodes of Better Call Saul will be made available to Latin America and Europe territories early next year.

In the US and Canada, the full first season of the series is available exclusively on Netflix. Episodes of Better Call Saul will be available after the season finale is shown on the US cable network AMC Networks Inc.

Netflix won the rights for the spinoff after striking a deal with Sony Pictures Television, which will serve as the studio which will produce the show. Financial terms of the deal were not revealed.

The Emmy-winning drama series became a very popular show this year and has kickstarted the careers of the actors featured in the show. The show followed the life of cancer patient Walter White as he resorts to cooking meth and other drugs to support the growing needs of his family. Known for its cunning yet close-to-home depictions of its scenarios, Breaking Bad quickly gained a massive following.
