Tessanne Chin Seizes 'The Voice' Title, Marks Team Adam Levine Second Win For Hit NBC Show

Tessanne Chin, a Jamaican diva, made history in December 18 after being declared as Tuesday's "The Voice" season five winner.

"It is out of body," winner Chin shared, showing off her trophy behind the scene after the NBC singing contest, when asked about her win. "I feel like, is this really happening, you know? This can't be real. Like unbelievable. Unbelievable."

The 28-year-old powerhouse from Kingston had almost given up hope of ever reaching her dreams before landing a spot in Team Adam at the auditions. She described the experience as "life-changing."

Tessanne Chin told reporters that she was "literally at the end of a road" and was thankful of being given another shot at a singing career.

The only one more excited than The Voice winner herself was Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine. As Chin's coach, he was also thankful to add another win under his belt.

This was the second win for Levine who also mentored 2011 The Voice winner, Javier Colon. Country superstar and fellow mentor Blake Shelton grabbed the crown for the next three seasons following Levine's first win.

Levine shared that he needed to change his strategy and approach in The Voice 2013 to beat Shelton's winning streak -- an achievement Levine described as his greatest so far.

The Maroon 5 singer also said that he's looked at things analytically and pinpointed that he's fallen short in investing enough time to his mentees in the past. He went for a different approach this time, thinning things out and devoting more time to his team and thereby instilling them with the confidence they needed to win.

16-year-old Jacquie Lee from Christina Aguilera's team took home second place while Levine's other mentee, Will Champlin, came in third, rounding up this season of The Voice.

Among the guests who performed for the last episode of season five were Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Ne-Yo, Paramore, OneRepublic and Aloe Blacc.

To end this year's season, Tessanne Chin performed her unique version of "Tumbling Down", an original song by OneRepublic creator Ryan Tedder, who also serves as The Voice's in-house songwriter-producer.

The Voice season 6 returns with a two-night special premiere starting February 24 at 8 ET/PT, with Shakira and Usher rejoining the panel as judges alongsde Levine and Shelton.
