In a sneak peek to Scandal season 3 episode 11, we can see First Lady Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young) telling Olivia (Kerry Washington) in a snarky manner how she should smile because "the world is watching." Then, we can see photographers snapping their cameras just to get some photos of the two. Does this mean Olivia is now part of the President Grant's (Tony Goldwyn) reelection campaign? Meanwhile, we can also see Harrison feeling a little bit uncomfortable as though there's a new threat on the loose. Jake is also featured in a quick shot, hinting that he is indeed in command now.
Additionally, in case you haven't known yet, TV Line has already revealed that ABC has trimmed Scandal's third season from 22 to 18. Although it wasn't specified why, TV Line believes that it's to give way to Kerry Washington's real-life pregnancy since she is already due in spring. On the other hand, it was also revealed recently that Bellamy Young's character will finally find a new love interest in the person of Jon Tenney's ("The Closer" and "Major Crimes") character, who is yet to be named.
