Anna Paquin: 'True Blood' star Anna Paquin Gets Cut From Latest 'X-Men' Installment

Anna Paquin's character Rogue in the "X-Men" series has been cut of all screen time in the lastest installement.

"True Blood" star Anna Paquin will not be appearing in the big-screen version of "X-Men: Days of Future Past", confirmed earlier today by the film's director Bryan Singer.

Film editing usually concentrates on decreasing a film's run time or adjusting the pacing so it looks just right but rarely does it happen that an entire character's screen time gets cut entirely. Director Bryan Singer mentioned earlier that during the editing process, Anna Paquin's character Rogue has been cut from the entire film.

Most call this ironic since "X-Men: Days of Future Past" features every single character that has ever made an appearance in an X-Men installment.

Anna Paquin, who has gained immense popularity after starring in hit television series "True Blood", apparently only had one viable scene in the entire full-length film.

Director Bryan Singer immediately released an official statement to EW, clearing up the real reason behind Rogue being cut from the film. He shared that "Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous. It's a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go."

Singer continued to explain that it was unfortunate that Rogue's one and only sequence in "Days of Future Past" had to be cut due to time constraints and that though the "True Blood" star was featured in the materials and advertising of the film, she would not be appearing on the big-screen version.

"True Blood" leading lady Paquin would have reprised her role as Marie and alter ego Rogue in the latest installment, alongside castmates Hugh Jackman, Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen.
