'After Christmas' sales started earlier this year. In fact, we can't even call it 'After Christmas' but before or pre-Christmas since the hottest deals have already landed several stores, while other even began early last week.
According to Time Business & Money, price-slashing that is expected to take place after Christmas has started early this year, with many stores joining the holiday sale revolution as early as Dec. 23.
Multiple reports stated that this year, consumers won't have to wait for Christmas to end for the arrival of 'After Christmas' sales just like what happened to the Black Friday sales that technically started on Thanksgiving Thursday.
"After Christmas sales actually start before Christmas itself," DealNews reported adding, "In fact, last year we saw sales labelled as 'After Christmas' that went live as early as Dec. 24. This year we expect sales to start within the same timeframe; and since Christmas Eve falls on a Tuesday, we wouldn't be surprised to see a few branded sales begin as early as Monday, Dec. 23."
Interestingly, Amazon.com has already come up with its very own After Christmas Sales 2013 page.
"After Christmas is before Christmas," Mike Bernacchi of University of Detroit Mercy said, adding that the trend is "fueled by retailers' worry they will be stuck with a bunch of leftovers after Christmas."
