Kate Winslet and husband Ned Rocknroll has joined the club of Hollywood stars giving unusual names for their adorable offspring. Earlier today, Winslet's publicist shared that the couple has named their newborn son Bear Winslet.
According the actress' representative, their child will carry Kate's family name instead of husband Ned's who recently changed his surname to monicker Rocknroll.
Kate Winslet's publicist confirmed the newborn boy's name and surname earlier today after months of speculation, disappointing many fans who expected to call the baby Bear Rocknroll. "Titanic" star Kate Winslet gave birth last December 7th.
"I quite like Kate Winslet; in fact I think it's very flashy," the Oscar award winning actress shared to the Telegraph in September. "I'm proud of my name because I'm one of three girls and we have one boy in our family so essentially the only person who is going to carry the name along is my brother and he doesn't have any children at the moment."
Surprisingly enough, Winslet is not the first celebrity to name their child Bear. Actress Alicia Silverstone recently gave birth to a baby whom she named Bear Blu and Jamie Oliver gave his baby boy the unique name Buddy Bear Maurice.
So far, no other information was revealed regarding Bear Winslet.
Bear Winslet is 38-year-old Kate's third child. Mia Honey, her first child, was born to her and Jim Threapleton, her first husband whom she divorced in 2001. Kate had another boy with former husband Sam Mendes named Joe Alfie.
Kate Winslet and Ned Rocknroll got married in a simple, quiet ceremony in December 2012. The two confirmed that they were expecting in June 2013.
Kate Winslet's third husband had been born Able Smith and only recently got to legally change his complete name to Ned Rocknroll.
English actress and singer Winslet was born Kate Elizabeth Winslet and was the youngest person to have six Academy Award Nominations in her resume.
Kate Winslet has won numerous awards including an Academy Award, Golden Globe and BAFTA for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
