Paul Walker, former leading man of he "Fast and Furious" series, has been confirmed to headline the seventh installment despite his death one month ago, confirmed fellow co-star Vin Diesel.
Paul Walker has passed away but his loved ones are determined to let him be forgotten. After almost a month since the actor's untimely death, his "Fast and Furious 7" family still have him deeply embedded in their minds and hearts.
Vin Diesel recently shared the latest still from his ending scene with fallen friend Paul Walker taken in the set of "Fast and Furious 7." Along with the photo, Vin Diesel also shared the latest news on the movie's release date.
"Fast and Furious 7 will be released... April 10th 2015!" Vin Diesel shared before continuing, "P.s. He'd want you to know first..."
Universal Pictures also release a statement confirming Vin Diesel's Facebook announcement, as well as putting a stop on speculation by confirming that Paul Walker will still play the main role in the film and share top billing.
A mixture of emotional and positive reactions came from fans of Diesel, Walker and the "Fast and Furious" franchise to Vin Diesel's Facebook post, which has already garnered more than 1 million "likes" and about 22,000 comments. The picture depicted a mysterious scene where both Vin Diesel and Paul Walker wore twin solemn expressions and seemed to be mesmerized by a reddish light off-screen.
"The last scene we filmed together," the actor explained regarding the picture. "There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared... in the film we were now completing... the magic captured... and, in just how far we've come."
Another "Fast and Furious" actor, Ludacris, backed up Diesel's sentiments and shared his own news through his Instagram account, saying, "as #TeamPW promised, we want to keep you updated on Paul," he wrote. "For all the @fastandfuriousmovie fans who have been asking, #VinDiesel just announced #FF7's new release date."
According to several sources involved in the movie, Walker's loss caused a large part of the script to be redone and rewritten entirely.
