One Direction and Taylor Swift have not only dominated charts for 2013 but they've also displayed exemplary charitable achievements for this year as well.
Popular "X Factor" boyband, One Direction, has been voted as second most charitable among the many celebrities and stars who devoted the most help to charities for 2013, according to an official report made by nonprofit group dosomething.org.
It was Taylor Swift, Harry Style's ex-girlfriend, however, that took home the top spot and was named Most Charitable among the list of many celebrities who did their part in helping mankind this year. This is mainly due to the US$100,000 she donated to The Nashville Symphony as part of her 24th birthday celebration
The boys of One Direction climbed to the second spot on the list because of their charitable efforts in 2013's Comic Relief.
One Direction recorded their own version of "One Way or Another" by Blondie which was used as Comic Relief's official single. The five former "X Factor" contenders also went to Ghana to help publicise the efforts and work done by Comic Relief in African countries.
"It's pretty amazing that the top two spots on the list are held by celebrities under age 25. For the first time, 50 percent of the list is age 30 or younger. This rising generation is using their money and star power for good." remarked dosomething.org 's Naomi Hirabayahi regarding One Direction and Taylor Swift.
It's the first time the list has been dominated by younger celebrities below the age of 30 and creators of nonprofit organization hopes that this will help prompt more individuals and celebrities to give back as much as they receive and raise awareness.
Following One Direction, singer-actress Beyonce was also in the list, placing third just after the British band One Direction. Former "Fast & Furious" lead actor, Paul Walker, was also on the list, placing 4th over all.
