Amber Laign now has the world's spotlight on her after "longtime girlfriend" and Good Morning America host Robin Robert's admitted to being gay.
Roberts, while praising the people she loved, revealed her sexuality.
The GMA host posted on her Facebook account last Sunday that she was grateful for the presence of Amber Laign, her longtime girlfriend, while reflecting back on an important milestone in her myelodysplastic syndrome treatment.
According to a spokesperson from ABC, Robin Roberts has been in a relationship with girlfriend Laign for 10 years and still going strong. It was then when Laign's profile first surfaced in the media and it was discovered that she is worked a licensed massage therapist and specialized in helping people recovering from bodily injuries.
Curiosity about Robin Robert's girlfriend surfaced after the bold admission and more information regarding Amber Laign has surfaced on the internet.
According to E! News, Roberts and Bay Area native Laign met one another through mutual friends who also played matchmakers for the couple.
Amber Laign also reportedly finished high school in Concord, California in a school called Clayton Valley High School. She and her family had moved to Concord from Lebanon, NJ, where Amber had previously studied in Round Valley Middle School.
Information from Amber Laign's LinkedIn account said she took up a 12-month program n massage therapy at The Swedish Institute of Health Sciences in 2008. Robin Robert's girlfriend reportedly specializes in Swedish, Trigger Point, Deep Tissue and Myofascial Release massages.
Amber Laign also has a background in fashion, sources confirmed. She worked in Berger & Stevens as a sales representative for nine years before studying for a massage therapist license. Berger & Stevens is known as a showroom that boasted a "unique collections of evening wear, separates, sportswear, and accessories which they can then proudly present to the nation's finest specialty stores."
Robin Robert's may have only recently announced their relationship but Amber Laign isn't a new face in the media. She and Roberts have been spotted and photographed together for multiple events including when Roberts had been awarded with ESPN's Arthur Ashe Award for Courage in July.
Another interesting fact about Amber Laign is that she and girlfriend Robin Roberts have quite an age gap between them. 53-year-old Roberts and 39-year-old Laign have a 14-year age gap between them.
