'Tia and Tamera' Cancelled: Why Their Self-Titled Reality Show Isn't Returning For Season Four

"Tia Tamera" has had a successful run with three seasons but child actresses Tia and Tamera Mowry are ready to throw in the towel and call it quits.

Following the cancelation of their self-titled reality TV series, Tamera Mowry-Housley declared Tuesday that the show would not be coming back to E! for its fourth season.

According to media sources, 35-year-old Tamera shared the surprising news with fans via Twitter, where the reality television star posted several tweets regarding the decision made by the show's executives.

Mowry-Housley surprised fans with the abrupt news on Twitter, saying "wanted to say Thank You for all the love and support. But most of all welcoming me, my husband, n (and) my son into your homes for 3 seasons... Tia and Tamera will not have a season 4. Thank you for always supporting us throughout the years. Tia n I decided it was time 2 live r family lives behind the cameras..."

Before becoming a hit reality TV series, "Tia & Tamera" originally started out as a TV special called "Tia & Tamera Take 2." The special television segment of the twins was shown on the former Style Network on July 17, 2010.

The popular television series gave the two child stars' fans a chance to get a close look into their personal lives as they take on hectic showbiz careers, marriage and motherhood.

After the television special was aired, the two child stars gained even more fans and greater popularity when viewers discovered a surprising yet interesting characteristic about the twins - the vast difference between their personalities.

"Tia & Tamera Take 2" revealed the opposing character traits and personalities of the famous identical twins and the opposition was so interesting that fans continued asking for more.

The incredible success of "Tia & Tamera Take 2" led producers to create a reality TV spin-off of the special that ended up being called simply, "Tia & Tamera."

The hit television series made its small screen deut on August 8, 2011.

Due to the series' incredibly high ratings, "Tia & Tamera" was renewed for second season in September 2011 by the Style Network executives, just a month after the first season's premiere.

The show's third season was not announced until February 2013 and aired on July 14 of last year.

So why is their hit TV show not coming back for a fourth run?

The two child stars said they don't want their personal lives exposed through reality TV anymore and that they wanted to live their lives outside the spotlight. They won't be leaving show business for good, just reality television.
