Emma Watson Breaks Up With Longtime Boyfriend: What Drugs Had To Do With It

Emma Watson has had a busy 2013 with the 23-year-old taking on more mature roles since her "Harry Potter" days but her love life seemed to have taken a turn for the worse as the English actress reportedly broke up with longtime boyfriend, William Adamowicz.

The "Harry Potter" actress started dating William Adamowicz just shortly after meeting him at Oxford University in 2011. Recent rumors surrounding the couple claimed they had been close to getting engaged.

According to a British newspaper, the couple may have split due to Emma Watson's busy work schedule.

"Emma and Will separated last summer and are no longer in touch," a representative for Watson said to the media outlet regarding their relationship.

But Emma Watson's busy career might not be the only reason for the controversial split.

Adamowicz is currently catching heat after a photo of him handling white powder with a New York City MetroCard and US$100 bill on a table was leaked on the internet.

The photo of Adamowicz was taken on Jan. 1 and was posted through Antoine Salagnon's, a close friend of Adamowicz's, Facebook account with the caption "HNY [Happy New Year] - with Will Adamowicz."

The French actor's Facebook page was deactivated shortly after the local media newspaper contacted him about the controversial picture.
Watson's ex-boyfriend denied claims that the white, powdery substance in the picture, reported uploaded on a Facebook account by one of Adamowicz's close friends, was an illegal drug.

"The picture is not compromising. It is not what you think. They are not packages. They are not drugs. They are just bits of scrap paper. I don't take any drugs," Adamowicz told the media.

Emma Watson's ex-boyfriend did not comment further regarding the issue.

Watson and Adamowicz were last spotted together in November in London.

The "Harry Potter" star, known to be steadfastly tight-lipped about her love life, first opened up about her relationship with Adamowicz in an interview with Glamour magazine in 2012 while elaborating on what she looks for in a man.

"You always think that the guy is going to end up coming around and that you're going to be the one that saves him - like the Oasis song," Emma Watson admitted in an interview with the UK edition of Glamour magazine. "Actually, I don't think that you can change other people, but women always hope for the best."
