Sophia Bush is going to show and prove to us all that she can definitely shoot. The actress recently dished about the training she had to undergo for her new series 'Chicago PD' and dropped some interesting facts about her childhood as well.
"I've been a marksman shooter since I was 12 years old, so to be able to use that skill set now sort of feels like it was meant to be all along," Bush told the Toronto Sun. "Yeah, I've been shooting for a long, long time. Only on a range, I'm a very vocal proponent of gun safety, for sure."
The 31-year-old actress also dished about her training with the SWAT team as part of her preparation for her upcoming series called "Chicago P.D."
"The guys were being incredibly respectful, but I could tell a little more tender with me. They're saying, 'Are you sure you're comfortable?' 'Yeah, yeah, I think I'm okay,'" she narrated. "They say, 'Just try to hit centre mass on the body of the target.' So I put one between the eyes and two in the forehead. I looked at my SWAT commander and he just went, 'Holy s---, she can shoot!' That was a pretty great training day for me."
Chicago P.D. is actually a spinoff of Chicago Fire, which is still airing and is currently on its second season.
When asked to describe her upcoming series, Bush was quick to answer, "Let's be honest, this show is just bad-ass."
In the series, Sophia Bush plays Det. Erin Lindsay, a used-to-be "bad girl" who took a 180-degree turn from her ways when she met lead character Sgt. Hank Voight (Jason Beghe).
Chicago P.D. is set to debut on January 8, Wednesday, on NBC and Global.
