Lucy Hale has got a lot going on for her this 2014 aside from the success of "Pretty Little Liars," with the singer/actress gearing up for the release of her new country album and receiving a lot of love for the debut of her single "You Sound Good To Me."
The "Pretty Little Liars" star dropped first single "You Sound Good To Me" of her country album on Jan. 7. The song quickly climbed up the charts to peak at #2 on the country iTunes list and #46 overall.
"The single got released," 24-year-old Lucy Hale Hale excitedly told a media outlet in a red carpet interview at the People's Choice Awards. "The response, for the most part has been just really welcoming," the actress added.
Lucy Hale also shared that before the release of her single, she had been worried about the general response she would receive after coming out as a country singer. Hale added that most of the reactions she's gotten so far is mostly just confusion instead of negative.
"People are a little like confused by it, but it's been really awesome," she said. "I'm just trying to soak it all in. I'm on cloud nine today. Like, I can't believe it," the "Pretty Little Liars" star gushed in the interview.
Though it might have generated confusion from her fans, Lucy Hale said that country music wasn't simply a new hobby for her.
The 24-year-old "Pretty Little Liars" star explained that she has always aspired to be a professional singer and has always idolized artists such as Martina McBride and Faith Hill since her childhood.
"I don't have to hide behind a character, wardrobe or dialogue," the actress once tweeted. "My music is 100% who I am and where I'm at in life."
Hale recently won "Favorite Cable TV Actress" in the 40th Annual People's Choice Awards.
