‘The Simpsons’ to Get Its Own LEGO Set

Fans of Homer, Marge and the rest of Springfield's renowned denizens, rejoice!

The Simpsons, television's longest running animated prime time series, will officially have its own buildable LEGO set, complete with iconic couch. In an announcement released Wednesday, the toymaker said it has partnered with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products.

The 2500-piece set will feature all five of the family members plus neighbor Ned Flanders, according to Time.com. The Simpson LEGO house will be divided into two floors and can be opened to reveal an exact interior replica of the famed dwelling to include the children's bedrooms, living room and garage, the website reports.

The company is targeting the product for ages 12 and up, said MTV.com.

"We know our fans will love the challenge of building the Simpsons' family home in great detail and the ability to collect quintessential characters in Lego minifigure form," Jill Wefert of the LEGO Group said in a statement to Time.

The play set will retail for $199.99, according to Mashable.com, and will go on sale February 1.

Mashable reports an additional 16-character line of mini-figures will be available in May and will retail for $3.99 per character.
