Kate Upton, at only 21 years old, has already proven herself to be one of the most successful and hardworking models in the business and apparently the art of posing has become as easy as breathing for the blond bombshell as evidenced by her latest cover of "V" magazine.
"I now suffer from Catalog Tourette's," the 21-year-old model/actress joked during her photoshoot and interview.
As V magazine's newest cover girl, Upton shares, "I can switch a pose like it's no one's business. As soon as I hear a camera click, I'm on. I tell you, it's a serious nervous condition."
The model-turned-actress has made it on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition twice and has been featured in Vanity Fair and Vogue but Upton said she's done her best not to let her success get to her head.
When asked how she remains grounded despite the fame, Kate Upton explained, "I don't compare myself with other models. She believes modeling is all about competing with one's self and becoming the absolute best one can be, the single star added.
The 21-year-old also knows her flaws and limits well, saying, "The truth is that I can't do facial expressions like [Coco Rocha] and others do. If I pull a goofy face, it doesn't look cute; I look like a dying animal. But I guess someone likes what I am doing."
But Upton's had her share of critics, including Victoria's Secret Fashion director Sophia Neophitou who described the blond as "a footballer's wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy" in a 2012 interview with The New York Times.
Upton shared her confusion as to why Nephitou, whom she had never met before the incident, would be so cruel. "You have to remember that I was 19 when she said that, and I had just gotten my cover of Sports Illustrated that day. Literally that day. So it didn't really affect me at first," Kate Upton told the magazine.
"But it did in the end, because I wasn't used to that kind of media swirl at all. I had never met her, so it really came out of nowhere. It was my introduction to being in the spotlight and having people you've never met have an opinion of you," the 21-year-old added.
Aside from modeling, Kate Upton has been honing her acting skills in preparation for her big screen debut. The blond model is set to star alongside Leslie Mann and Cameron Diaz in the upcoming comedy, "The Other Woman."
The shift from fashion to the film industry was a lot more natural and smooth than it might seem, the 21-year-old explained.
"My life isn't as manufactured as people think," Kate Upton shares. "I have dreams and I express them. But it's a business and you have to be a good observer if you want to do your job properly."
