Emily Osment is back -- and hungry?
Former Hanna Montana star Emily Osment is gearing up for her return to the small screen with ABC series "Young and Hungry" which is also fellow Disney Channel alum Ashley Tisdale's first project as executive producer.
The 21-year-old actress is set to star in Young and Hungry where she will take on the role of Gabi, a young and upcoming food blogger.
In the show, Osment's onscreen persona Gabi is desperate for a job and because of a series of mishaps, ends up working as a rich young tech entrepreneur Josh's personal chef.
In "Young & Hungry," Gabi is challenged to prove herself to be a capable chef, especially to Josh's assistant, played by Rex Lee, who prefers a well-known chef for the job.
When Josh requests a romantic meal for him and his girlfriend, the dinner ends in total disaster mid-way and Gabi is caught in an awkward position. However, with a little support from Josh's housekeeper and her best friend Sofia, Gabi successfully turns an awkward situation into an opportunity for employment and perhaps love.
She will star alongside Jonathan Sadowski who will be taking on the role of wealthy businessman Josh, Aimee Carrero, Kym Whitley and Rex Lee.
The ABC series will premiere later in 2014.
"It's great to start the new year and my tenure at ABC Family with the pickup of these two funny original series," remarked President Tom Ascheim of the ABC Family on Osment's new show and Mystery Girls, another upcoming comedy starring and executive produced by Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling.
