Peyton Manning's wife is now a hero to most of the star quarterback's fans. For one thing, this woman managed to change Peyton's view of his condition following his 2011 surgery. Moreover, she was the one who helped him regain his enthusiasm in playing again.
According to The Post Game, Peyton Manning's wife Ashley Thompson, completely guided the Denver Broncos' player in his battle against his own self and his search for his determination to give his sport another try.
It can be noted that the 2013 NFL MVP couldn't have played another game after his 2011 surgery. However, it didn't take a miracle for Peyton to actually get back into playing again, it only took his wife to talk him into giving the game another try.
IN his most recent interview with 2013 Sports Illustrated, Manning began to talk about his career and personal life by revealing a thing or two on how his wife gave him the right push in returning to the field.
"Ashley [his wife] and I actually had those conversations. More than one. Because, you know, you don't want to embarrass yourself. Because, they're signing you and people are thinking they're getting the player they had always seen before," Peyton said. "And so, Ashley was the one that was saying, 'Peyton, you've got to try. You've got to try.' With this injury, nothing was happening. Nothing. For weeks. There was no progress. It was so frustrating. And really, I had a peace about it. I had a peace. Because, I had this unbelievable string of health for 20 years -- since I was 15 years old as a sophomore in high school."
Then, Manning continued by talking about his thoughts on his condition back then. "So who was I to complain now that I'm injured? I've given it as good a run as I can give it. I've got kids now. I had a peace about it. So I didn't feel like I had to play to get another win or a touchdown. But she's like, 'You've got to try.' So I was glad that she pushed me to do it. Once I did it, I was going at it, and then I started seeing a little bit of light there. So, yeah, she was the one who kind of pushed me through it. "So who was I to complain now that I'm injured? Fans who have read about Manning's thoughts on retiring, expressed their opinions on social media. While some of them asked whether it was true, many lauded Peyton Manning's wife for the positive impact she has been to the player all this time.
In fact, although Manning has always been very private about his personal life, it is not unknown to many that Ashley has always been on his side albeit the fact that she hasn't been as visible on the games of her husband as opposed to other superstar athlete wives.
