Grant Achatz, a world renowned Chef posted a twitter question, whether to allow a baby or not in his restaurant last Saturday.
"Tbl brings 8mo.Old. It cries. Diners mad. Tell ppl no kids? Subject diners 2crying? Ppl take infants 2 plays? Concerts? Hate saying no, but ...," Achatz tweeted.
This is after a couple entered the Alinea, a pricey restaurant in Chicago, brought a baby and cause disturbance in the fine dining. The couple eats and the baby sits on the lap of the mother since Achatz's restaurant does not have a high chair for the baby to use.
Diners at the restaurant reacted with this and get a little upset hearing the baby cries while they are eating. The diners were ease after the restaurant served a whine.
The couple had the baby with them at the restaurant after the baby sitter cancel before their reservation.
Achatz's post created an uproar in different social media sites particularly on twitter. A lot of tweets are posted to answer his question, which sum up to "not allowing" babies to be brought in a $265 per head (excluding tax and tip) restaurant.
The creation of the twitter account "@Alinea Baby" added to the discussion and prompted a lot of comments to Achatz's post.
Michael Negrants, a reviewer of restaurants for RedEye answer Achatz's post with, "IT IS ABSURD TO BRING YOUR BABY TO ALINEA."
While the debate to whether allow or not allow a baby in a fine restaurant goes on, Achatz ended up the discussion with another twitter post of two fish head on a platter and captioned it, "definitely not baby food."
Alinea Restaurant ranks No.1 of the top rated restaurant in Chicago and rank No.15 of Restaurant Magazine.
