Justin Bieber Scandal: Police Raids Singer’s Home With Warrant For Egging Charges

Justin Bieber's prank might have gotten him more than just the headline spot in the local tabloids this week as police officers reportedly descended upon the singer's Calabasas home on Tuesday with a search warrant.

The warrant was in conjunction with their investigation of possible felony vandalism charges for which eight people were detained, including the "Baby" singer.

Police added that so far all eight suspects have been cooperative with their investigation.

Justin Bieber's neighbor reported that the pop star egged his house while shouting obscenities at him and his family during an incident last Thursday night.

In California law, charges for vandalism can be elevated to a felony level if the damages reach over US$400. Consideration is afforded to the circumstances of the crime and personal criminal history.

Justin Bieber's neighbor is allegedly claiming that damage to his home values over US$20,000.

Eleven police cars showed up in Bieber's home to conduct the search. According to reports by several media outlets, officials are searching for evidence connecting the singer to the egg-throwing incident. This includes eggs that match to those thrown, surveillance camera recordings or any videotaped evidence of the incident that could have been stored in computers.

Justin Bieber was reportedly detained and held in his garage while officials searched his home.

The police raid is the newest development in a year's worth of incidents between Selena Gomez's ex-boyfriend and his L.A. suburb neighbors. Calabasas is a neighborhood situated in west San Fernando Valley known for its multimillion-dollar homes, relative privacy and exclusivity.
