In a sneak peek to Supernatural season 9 episode 10 titled "Road Trip," we can see a desperate Dean resorting to asking Crowley the favor of cracking an angel open. But knowing Crowley's devious side, he asks Dean a favor in return and that is some fresh air perhaps this is the reason why the episode is titled "Road Trip." Anyhow, Dean could be seen hesitant at first, but then he gives in to Crowley's request since he is running dry when it comes to options. However, it seems that both parties are keeping their end of the bargain as the preview shows Crowley performing a somehow bloody ritual to free Sam (Jared Padalecki) from Gadreel. The question now is whether Crowley will be successful in separating Sam from Gadreel's control? Show executive producer Jeremy Carver recently dished about the things that have already taken place in the season thus far and the things that are yet to happen. "Dealing with the events that led up to killing Kevin Tran is the most intriguing and felt [like] the most grounded way to tell the story this season," Carver told TVLine. "[Kevin's death] puts the strongest possible exclamation point on the idea that it was Dean who let the angel now known as Gadreel into Sam." Then, Carver adds, "Dean is understandably crushed by that death and being betrayed by Gadreel. And I think he feels incredibly guilty about all of this and incredibly determined to right his wrongs... [even] making certain alliances that he never thought he'd be forced to make [in order to] right what he considers to be one of the biggest mistakes he's ever made."
