A video footage of a car flipped and crushed by an elephant at Kruger Park South Africa is being uploaded in youtube. The footage was taken by a tourist in the car behind the elephant.
The park authorities had to shoot the elephant to stop it from its rage. The elephant died, it was then they realized that it is in a "musth" condition, wherein the male hormones or testosterone gets high so the animal tends to be aggressive.
"The elephant had to be put down. Since it was in its musth phase, the elephant had gotten into a fight with another dominant bull before and was very aggressive," said William Masaba, general manager at the Kruger Park.
The elephant was also reported to have a fight with another bull so it is reasonable to be aggressive.
Though the video did not capture the whole incident, it shows how the elephant went in front of a car owned by Sarah Brooks', a teacher from England. It flipped the car three times. Brook, who is inside the car with her partner were then crushed after the elephant stepped on it.
In a report, Sarah and his partner was following the elephant and switch off the car's engine so they won't disturb the elephant. The elephant, suddenly in rage, turn to them and flipped their car.
Brook was stabbed by the elephant tusk in her thigh while her partner gained minor injuries. The two were brought to the hospital but now discharge.
The car is wreck and cannot be use again.
This is not the first report of an animal rage at the park. Two incidents of animal attacked were also reported in Kruger. Another elephant was shot after attacking a traffic office at the park on December and a car also flipped last April.
The records of attack in the park cannot be controlled since the animals are used to living in the wilds and it is normal for them to be aggressive as self-defense.
