A 4.4 magnitude earthquake shook Southern California. The earthquake hit Fontna at 1:35 am according to Us Geological Survey.
The epicenter of the earthquake was 4 miles West of Rialto and 3 miles North Fontana in San Bernandino County.
Multiple aftershocks were felt by the residents according to the reports.
The shaking of the ground and the swaying of the houses and building occur. After the quake, a 2.5 magnitude aftershock occurs at 2:07 am, which was recorded to be the largest aftershock ever happen to California.
Reports say that the shaking was felt all over Southern California. West Covinia, Anaheim and Santa Monica, which are already 65 miles west of earthquake epicenter, felt the shaking.
No major damage was recorded but a police officer compared the earthquake to a car crash.
Sgt. Chris Hice of the Rialto Police Department. Said, ""It felt like somebody ran into our building."
Another resident, Jeff Pracht said, "It was on shock absorbers. It only lasted about five seconds. It sounded like a bomb going off, and the house just started rocking."
Bryan Humphrey from the Los Angeles Fire Department reported that there were no related calls or reports of damage in LA area.
A 2.5 magnitude earthquake also struck Fontana last year, which is recorded to be four miles west of Rialto and four miles West of Bloomington.
