Movie theater shooting -- a Floria couple claimed that accused movie theater shooter Curtis Reeves who is now facing second degree murder charges, confronted her for texting during a screening of "The Hobbit" on Dec. 28.
Jamira Dixon and husband Michael said alleged theater shooter Reeves angrily yelled at them and another man over texting at the same theater where the retired Tampa police captain reportedly shot a moviegoer who refused to stop texting and put his phone away/
The Florida couple explained that they were watching "The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug" at the Grove 16 Theater on Dec. 28 when a man they reported was Reeves snapped at them over Jamira Dixon's texting.
Jamira Dixon confirmed that her phone was set on silent but the device's display light was on while she was texting.
71-year-old Curtis Reeves is facing charges after shooting Chad Oulson dead at the theater in Wesley Chapel on Monday. Authorities confirm that an altercation started after Reeves confronted Oulson for texting during the movie's previews.
"He became more irate and upset at the situation," Jamira Dixon explained in an interview with a local news outlet. "He kept staring at us and giving us dirty looks."
The Florida woman said she turned her phone off but the reported confrontation did not stop there.
Things "got worse," Dixon said, when another moviegoer sitting in front of them started texting as well.
"He gets up, he's like, 'Can you do me a favor? Can you please just stop texting!' she told reporters. "I was like 'Oh my god! What is wrong with this guy?'" she added, referring to Reeves.
Chad Oulson and wife Nicole were waiting to watch "Lone Survivor" at the Grove 16 Theater on Monday when Chad's texting during the movie previews triggered an altercation.
Later, Dixon claimed, the irate retired cop followed her to the bathroom and glared at her. "I felt very uncomfortable," she added.
