The animatronic devil baby that screams, vomits and flips the bird at anyone who comes close does not only marked Thinkmodo's latest successful marketing strategy but has also gone viral on the internet, sparking interest from viewers around the world.
The robotic devil infant terrorized the streets of New York City earlier this month as part of a clever marketing campaign by Thinkmodo that scared the wits out of several curious bystanders.
The animatronic demon baby was placed in a harmless-looking abandoned stroller and each time a person comes close to check on it, the toy infant sat up and began growling.
The aptly named "devil baby," which cruised around New York City streets in a remote-controlled stroller, would quietly lie in wait for unsuspecting individuals to check on the baby inside before attacking, growling and at times even flipping the bird.
Like any demonic baby, the infant could also projectile vomit at a moment's notice.
The shocked reactions of people who fell victim to the devil baby were captured on camera and uploaded on Youtube as part of the advertising strategy for the upcoming Eli Roth movie, "Devil's Due," which is set to be released on Friday.
"One lady decided to cover up the baby with a blanket while another gentleman just stood there, processing the grotesque look of the baby," Michael Krivicka, Thinkmodo's co-founder, said in an interview with Yahoo! "People were totally cool with being in the video after getting the living hell scared out of them. Each reaction ended with a laugh, and everyone loved the look of the baby."
Krivicka's team has become popular for their unique marketing campaigns in the past including hacking Times Square video screens for "Limitless" and simulating flying people for the film "Chronicle."
The video of the infamous "devil baby" has garnered over 4.4 million views on Youtube in a day.
