When Hank Azaria and his longtime girlfriend, Katie, found out they were about to become first-time parents, the actor was just getting a project off the ground. The news on their would-be parenthood changed the tone of his Fatherhood documentary, according to a USA Today report.
Originally planned as a documentary about being a father, Hank Azaria began interviewing his famous entertainment friends several years ago to know what is like to be a father or what it was like to be one.
Hank Azaria's Fatherhood debuts as a Web series documentary that talks about his being a father to a premature son. The series would include contributions from fellow entertainment dads such as Kevin Bacon, Bryan Cranston, Mike Myers, Mike Nichols, Rainn Wilson, Stephen Moyer, Jim Gaffigan, Tim Robbins, Mike Myers, and Josh Molina, the report said.
Since its first episode, reports said that you need a tissue to prepare for tears when they fall down. There are also moments in the series in which you would chuckle, the report said.
In the first episode of Fatherhood, for example, Hank Azaria he learned he'll become a first-time father, but soon realized that his son was born 10 weeks earlier than expected. His son weighed less than three pounds and the ensuing moments in the series were so emotional. Cranston's and Nichols' also received commendations from critics and viewers of the series for their insightful comments
The second episode showed a different tone and relief compared to the first. It's lighter and even more helpful as Hank Azaria fast-forwards into the present and shows viewers how he deals with his cute and mischievous 3-year-old son.
Hank Azaria's Fatherhood is seen by viewers and critics alike to be a fresh take on the subject. It's funny, clever and touching.
