LOW Ratings for American Idol, Despite GIMMICKS

Despite the new efforts of the Fox singing competition, "American Idol" ratings are still down low. Premiere episode drew 15.2 million viewers, 15 percent down compared last year's premiere with 22.1 million viewers.

Its attempt to revive and gained its viewers lost for the past six year seems quite hard for this season, with its 4.6 ratings in adults 18-49 this season compared to 6.0 ratings in adults 18-49 of season 12.

With bringing back Jennifer Lopez as the judge, together with the new comer Harry Connick, Jr. and the season 12 Keith Urban, American idol seems to be doing fine and is trying to revive its fame.Unlike last season's panel reviews, Idol season 13 had a good panel reviews.

The downward trend start early 2006 and seems to continue until last year's season which provoked the management to restyle, renew and reinvent some things on the show.

In a recap of the long-time-running singing competition ratings, American Idol started since 2002 with 9.9 million viewers and reached 22 million over the season finale. It hit the highest viewer during 2006 but slides down ever since 2010.

American Idol greatest hit was in the year 2007, its sixth season, when it drew over 37 million viewers.

The number will only explain that the singing competition show would have to take more effort to gain the fame they had when they hit high in 2006.

Also, American idol key demographic drops 23 percent and 16 percent overall on the AI premiere. However, the show had managed to look at the greater side and claimed that for the first time, this season premiere is higher than its finale. Fox also noted that it "Idol" tied with "The Voice" most recent premiere.

The season's journey is just in its early step and there are lots of possible things to happen, given the efforts  presented in the last two episodes of "American Idol".
