Former Playboy playmate Cassandra Lynn Hensley, 34, was found dead in a Los Angeles home on Wednesday of reported drug overdose after a friend found the blond model floating in a bathtub.
Playboy 2006 edition's Miss February, who hailed from Fairfax, Virginia, was reportedly visiting a friend in California. Paramedics who responded to the 911 call were unable to resuscitate Hensley.
Authorities have not yet released the official cause of death, pending autopsy reports.
The 34-year-old former Playboy centerfold was still an active model, maintaining several social media feeds, a personal website and appearing as December's "Angel of Month" in Metropolis Nights.
"Yes, there is life after Playboy," Hensley said in an interview with the magazine. "I have been a part of many great experiences: travel shows, magazine covers, and of course giving advice to young impressionable girls who think they need to act a certain way for a chance to be a model (classy not slutty).
Cassandra Lynn Hensley grew up in Ferron, a small town in Utah, before moving to California when she was 18. She stayed in the Playboy Mansion with Hugh Hefner, the magazine publisher, in 2006 when she was named Playboy's Miss February.
"I am an honest, fun, loving person who loves to meet new people," Hensley described herself on her Model Mayhem profile. "My friends call me butterfly because of my butterfly spirit."
The blond model was an active Twitter user, but much of her account's feed was comprised of automatically posted daily horoscope for Leo, her astrological sign.
"Unspoken obligations prevent you from doing what you wish today," the eerie post for Thursday, the day following her death, reads.
