A 21-year-old woman was founded dead in her Jamaica, Queens apartment along with her two toddler daughters on Sunday night in an apparent triple homicide, police reported.
According to authorities, Deisy Garcia and her two children, ages 1 and 2, were found dead with multiple stabs each in a Sutphin Blvd. apartment near 90th Ave. just after 7 in the evening.
Authorities recovered several knives on the scene and were trying to locate Garcia's husband.
The Jamaica, Queens tragedy capped off a spate of stabbing incidents across the city that left six other people injured.
Iglesia Naciones Unidas en Cristo church members said the mother of two was a member and originally from Guatemala.
Mario Sanchez, 16, told police that Garcia was a devoted church member who came with her two toddlers to Mass every Sunday/
“She was a quiet but happy person,” Sanchez explained. “She always had a smile on her face. She was a good mom.”
People who knew the 21-year-old said she lived in the unit with her husband, their two daughters and another couple.
The son of Garcia's male roommate, who did not disclose his name, confirmed that his father was at the police station giving his statement to authorities.
In another part of the city, a 43-year-old woman was also stabbed several times around 6:20 in the morning while waiting at a bus stop in South Jamaica, police reported. The woman, who reported she didn't know her assailant's identity, was rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Around two hours prior to this, a man in his 20s was stabbed in the back on a subway platform in Woodhaven, Queens, police confirmed. He reportedly got into an argument with two other men on the J train was stabbed after getting off the train at the Woodhaven Blvd. station.
Three men who were last seen leaving a club were stabbed at W. 46th St. near 11th Ave. in Midtown around 3:30 a.m.
All four victims are expected to survive.
