Justin Bieber Convicted For The First Time For Drunken Drag Racing In Miami Beach, Resisted Arrest

Justin Bieber was arrested by Miami police after the pop star was stopped on suspicion of drag racing and driving under the influence Thursday morning in Florida.

According to police spokesperson Bobby Hernandez, the "Baby" singer was reportedly driving a yellow Lamborghini along Miami beach, the same one that had placed Bieber in hot water for drag racing a Ferrari in a residential area.

Bieber was made to take a field sobriety test after officials told him to step away from his car, CNN reported. He reportedly showed "signs of impairment" and was consequently taken into police custody for drunken driving.

Two SUVs "actually blocked the traffic at 26th and Pine Street so that they could race on Pine Street, almost making it like a makeshift race track," Hernandez added.

The Ferrari's driver, whose name remained undisclosed, was also taken in and booked for a drunken driving charge, Hernandez told CNN.

Another Miami police department is currently looking into a report that a few of its officers escorted the singer's caravan between strips clubs earlier this week with authorization.

David Chiverton, Assistant City Manager for Opa-Lock, said in an interview with WSVN-TV that "at some point the escort took them at least to two locations that we know of."

"The police administration had no knowledge of this escort, and it is not the norm for those things to occur without the chief and his administration authorizing such escorts," the assistant manager told WSVN-TV.

Despite his track record, Thursday's arrest is the first for Bieber, although he is still under investigation for reportedly damaging his California neighbor's home earlier this month.
